Amboseli National Park, Lake Naivasha & Area Attractions, Masai Mara National Reserve!

Drive, ride, sail, walk and maybe even bicycle to a wonderful variety of wildlife.

Amboseli National Park, which lies at its floor. This park is small but very popular, a testament to its scenic beauty and impressive wildlife, especially its many elephants which you are all but guaranteed to spot striding by in their delightful herds and the famous Mt.Kilimanjaro.

Lake Naivasha isn’t just one park but several destinations. There is the fresh-water Rift Valley lake where we’ll take a boat safari, spotting hippos and birds. To get up close to grazing wildlife, we’ll go on an optional guided walking safari to the charming and wonder-filled Crescent Island Game Sanctuary.

Masai Mara National Reserve, renowned for its great numbers of lion and other predators. Should you be here during the Great Migration (July – October) prepare to witness an immense spectacle of moving wildlife anywhere as hordes of wildebeest and zebra flood into the park.

Day 4

Masai Mara

FULL DAY GAME DRIVE

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Why is the Masai Mara so special? Lots of reasons – the beauty of the landscape with its golds and greens, the great density and variety of wildlife said to be the highest in the region, but also because it’s home to the Great Migration. During the months of July through October, vast herds of gazelle, wildebeest and zebra invade the park over the Mara River searching for sustenance. The numbers of wildlife pouring in over a migrating season can be astonishing – up to 2 million! We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch down at the Mara River, viewing hippo and crocodile, while in the hills, various predators lie in wait, acting out the timeless cycles of life.
